Our client for this beautiful garden in Highgate wanted to make a subtle addition to an existing formal area which had become overgrown. The design reuses an oval wall, previously planted, turning this into a rill or channel, and makes two pools, with tilted green slate surfaces which bring the water out, and back, to small pools sunk into the existing stone paving.

The primary intention was to create a tranquil place in the garden with sound, light reflections and movement of the water as it circulates bringing a reflective atmosphere.
