Mountains and microclimates:
architecture for an alpine city.

In Collaboration with: Andrew Ford of Fulcrum Consulting, Students of Diploma Unit 6
Exhibition, Austrian Cultural Institute, London.

A research project with students over three years looking at urban microclimates and urban sustainability. Spring meltwater floods, inversion air currents trapping pollution in the valley bowl, mountain shadow patterns limiting agricultural growth. These are some of the multiple and overlaid conditions tracked in the topoenergetic model, a three-dimensional dynamic tool which uses a light computer to provoke ideas for a sustainable development of Innsbruck.
